Invulnerable Today
No pain owns my spirit.
The morning is nice and bright.
I wake up with the sun. The air is cool. The floor is under my feet. Noise waits at the edge of my thoughts, but today… I can’t be bothered at all.
I breathe quietly and say ~
Today, I’m invulnerable and above all suffering!
I say it once in a normal voice.
“Today, I’m invulnerable and above all suffering!”
Then I say it again with everything I’ve got ~
“TODAY, I’M INVULNERABLE AND ABOVE ALL SUFFERING!”
My shoulders drop. My jaw unclenches. My hands open.
Nothing can touch me. I float above my life, the weather, the work, the bills, my mistakes, the disappointment, and other people.
I remember where I stand.
Pain has no claim over me. Discomfort does not get to lead me around by the wrist. I can feel something pass through me, and then I can just let it all go ~
I put on my shoes. I step outside. The morning is full and loud ~ tires on pavement, wind in the trees, a door closing somewhere down the block.
One step.
“Today, I am invulnerable.”
Another step.
“Today, I am above all suffering.”
Another.
“Today, I’m unstoppable!”
I do not hurry. I do not perform. I already made the decision.
What can stop me?
Not a mood.
Not a memory.
Not a hard look from someone passing by.
I am not asking the day to be gentle before I live it. I’m not waiting for perfect conditions. I’m not bargaining with the weather.
Today, I am unstoppable!
“Today, I am unstoppable!”
“TODAY, I AM UNSTOPPABLE!”
There is a difference between suffering and sensation.
Sensations come and go ~
Suffering happens when I identify with them.
Not today.

Above all suffering.
Today, I notice what I feel and keep walking. I don’t argue with pain. I don’t worry. I do not fear… because fear is a lie.
I breathe in and let the world keep all that ~
If my right arm hurts, then let it complain! As for me, I don’t complain. I’m on the throne, master of myself, king of me.
I’ll focus on myself today.
I won’t forget where I am.
I keep moving forward.
The road bends toward home. Sunlight catches in the wet grass and turns each blade into a small bright thing. Nothing mystical happens. No trumpet sounds. No doors open by themselves. Life is simpler than that.
I take the next step.
Then the next.
And the next.
By the time I reach the door, everything has changed. Or maybe I have. The floor is steady under my feet. The air feels warmer.
The little noise at the edge of my thoughts is gone, and I am at peace.
I say all three lines together ~
“Today, I am invulnerable.”
“Today, I am above all suffering.”
“Today, I am unstoppable!”
Today, I’m free. And I am so grateful for my life ~
