Our days can get busy quick ~ breakfast runs late, the line at the store drags, Mom calls and you end up chatting for an hour. Noon is on you before you know it and you think, “Hmmm… will I have time to?”

Time for what? Time to do what I said I was going to do, of course.

There’s always one more errand, reply, or small task that comes up. It is really important to leave room in your day for random chance events.

When every minute already belongs to something, a small delay can throw everything into a tailspin. You rush, and when you rush, you lose the moment. And if you can’t be present, what’s the point? Hurrying up to wait.

Room Around the Day

Leave a little room set aside for the part of your day that didn’t plan. It may be a trip to the store, a chore you forgot about, or a last minute request from a friend who needs your help. Try to always leave some extra time in your schedule so that you always have the presence and state of mind to take advantage of life’s opportunities when they are presented.

It can be really easy to think that whatever we have going on is just so important. The universe has a funny way of offering us adventure and surprising us right when we think we have it all figured out.

Take a deep breath in the morning and fill up your lungs with potential. Don’t close your eyes ~ open them wide! Be flexible and ready.

Give yourself space so that if you feel the call, you can pick it up instead of sending life to voicemail.
